Route:

Via Elsecar & Wentworth Woodhouse.

Distance:

6.9 miles, on pavements, a canal tow path, fields & woodland to Wentworth (potentially muddy) & further roads.

This partly follows the historic 'Six Churches' route & will also include Elsecar Visitor Centre.

You can walk one stage or more, as suits you. Each stage will have a proper pilgrim passport & be led by someone who has scouted the route.

Participants enter at their own risk, but a proper risk assessment is in place & stages will be cancelled if there is severe weather. This is why you need to register, so that we can advise you of any changes.

Most churches on the routes have toilets. You will need to bring a packed lunch and be equipped for a winter walk - warm clothes, boots or walking shoes, etc.
